Disruption, volatility and change

Change is certainly a constant that we need to learn to live with both for individuals and businesses.

There has been much comment on the change impact of digital disruption where digital technologies revolutionise the way traditional services are provided. Uber and AirBnB are the stand-out businesses but on-line shopping and e-readers are other technologies that have changed the nature of businesses in the retail space.

Looking ahead

Every business should be looking ahead and endeavouring to foresee the potential for disruption to their business model and to adapt sooner rather than later. Saward Dawson has been delivering specialist consulting services to the NFP sector faced with disruption due to changing funding models for several years and are well placed to assist any business to review what the future may look like for them.

Volatility is another aspect of change that individuals and businesses must deal with. The volatility in equity markets and foreign exchange over the last six months or so has been remarkable. It has highlighted the need for good risk management plans and being nimble enough to adjust to these changing situations when appropriate. Planning ahead and being forward looking is crucial and although much of an accountant’s time is spent analysing and reporting the past, our team has the skills and tools to assist individuals and businesses in planning for the future.

If you would like to discuss how we can assist you or your organisation plan for the future, please contact the manager or partner you normally deal with and we would be pleased to explore how we can assist.
