CBM – Charity inFocus

Over 1 billion people worldwide live with some kind of disability – they’re the world’s largest minority. 80% of people living with disability live in the world’s poorest countries; they’re the most disadvantaged. CBM works in ways to transform the lives of people in poverty with disabilities.

CBM focus on:
• Preventing blindness
• Ending poverty
• Transforming the lives of people with disabilities

CBM began with humble beginnings 110 years ago, and are now one of the world’s largest disability development organisations.

Their vision is to see an inclusive world in which all persons with disabilities enjoy their human rights and achieve their full potential.

This year, we were involved in CBM’s ‘Miracle’s Day’ where Australian’s are asked to give a $33 ‘miracle’ to give sight saving surgery to someone living in poverty. Not only did our staff donate ‘miracles’ but were also able to man the call centre desks.
We were thrilled to be able to hand over a total of $19,268 that we raised through a combination of staff giving, the ‘miracles day’ event and a donation from Count Charitable Foundation who once again matched what we raised.
